Zomato's 'Pure Veg Mode' Introduces Vegetarian Riders from Meat-Free Eateries
Zomato, the renowned food delivery platform, is introducing innovative features catering to the diverse dietary preferences of its customers. Co-Founder and CEO, Deepinder Goyal, unveiled the 'Pure Veg Mode' and 'Pure Veg Fleet' options aimed at serving customers with a 100% vegetarian dietary inclination.
Goyal emphasized that these additions do not intend to favor or exclude any religious or political group. Instead, they are a response to the significant feedback received from India, home to the world's largest percentage of vegetarians, who are particularly discerning about food preparation and handling.
The 'Pure Veg Mode' entails a selection of restaurants exclusively offering vegetarian fare, filtering out those serving non-vegetarian items. This mode ensures that customers adhering strictly to vegetarian diets can access suitable dining options hassle-free.
Moreover, the 'Pure Veg Fleet' will solely fulfill orders from these pure vegetarian establishments, ensuring segregation from non-vegetarian orders throughout the delivery process. Goyal emphasized the commitment to maintaining the integrity of vegetarian preferences, ensuring no contamination from non-vegetarian sources.
Looking ahead, Zomato envisions further customization to meet specific customer requirements. One such initiative is the introduction of a specialized cake delivery fleet equipped with hydraulic balancers to prevent cakes from getting damaged during transit. This demonstrates Zomato's dedication to enhancing customer experience and addressing unique needs beyond dietary preferences.
The company's financial performance also reflects its continued growth and profitability. In the third quarter of the current financial year, Zomato recorded a profit of Rs 125 crore, marking a significant improvement of Rs 390 crore compared to the same period last year. Additionally, its consolidated adjusted revenue surged by 53% year-on-year, reaching Rs 3,609 crore in Q3 FY24.
These developments underscore Zomato's commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, as it continues to evolve its services to meet the diverse needs of India's dynamic culinary landscape. The phased rollout of these features across the country in the coming weeks indicates the company's proactive approach to enhancing its offerings and maintaining its position as a leading food delivery platform.
